Dr. Thierry Pauyo Appointed Head Orthopedic Surgeon for the Montreal Canadiens

The Montreal Canadiens have announced an update to their medical team structure, with Dr. Thierry Pauyo being promoted to the position of Head Orthopedic Surgeon.

Dr. Pauyo completed his undergraduate studies with a major in Neuroscience at Amherst College, then proceeded to earn his medical degree from Harvard Medical School, where he graduated with honors.

To deepen his specialization in orthopedics, Dr. Pauyo enrolled in the residency program at McGill University. Following this, he sought further expertise in sports medicine and chose to undertake a fellowship in Pittsburgh with Dr Freddie Fu and Dr Volker Musahl. There, he worked with professional sports teams, including the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Penguins. It’s worth noting that during his time with the Penguins, the team won their 5th Stanley Cup win in 2017.

In 2018, Dr. Pauyo transitioned to the Montreal Canadiens, and has been a part of the medical team since then. His contributions have been consistent, and he has worked collaboratively to address the orthopedic needs of the players of the organization. The decision to promote Dr. Pauyo to Head Orthopedic Surgeon reflects his growing involvement with the team and the expertise he brings to the role. With this change, the Montreal Canadiens continue their efforts to maintain a strong medical team to support their players.

Quick access and excellence in care means improved outcomes and overall well-being.
