What is Bunion Correction Surgery (MIS)?

Bunion correction surgery, often performed as a minimally invasive bunionectomy, addresses painful deformities of the big toe (hallux valgus deformity) with precision and efficiency.

Through tiny incisions (poke holes) and advanced surgical instruments, our specialists—such as Dr. Danny Arora—realign the bone, remove the bunion, and restore the foot’s natural alignment, allowing for immediate weightbearing after the surgery. At our Montreal facility, we emphasize MIS techniques to minimize recovery time, reduce postoperative discomfort, and facilitate a prompt return to your regular activities. Whether you enjoy strolling through Montreal’s vibrant neighborhoods or engaging in physical pursuits, our goal is to ensure your comfort and mobility are fully restored.

Medically termed hallux valgus, bunions develop when the big toe shifts toward the adjacent toes, forming a bony prominence that may become inflamed or irritated. Without intervention, this condition can progress and lead to further foot pain or even secondary toe deformities. Our minimally invasive approach offers an effective solution tailored to your needs. If you’re wondering whether this procedure is appropriate for you, consider the following indicators.
